Welcome to my website.
I am an Associate Professor of Forestry at the School of Forestry at Northern Arizona University. A forester at heart, some of the labels that I use are social-ecologist, complex system scientist, systems modeler, and rural livelihoods specialist. I am driven by Use-Inspired Fundamental Research i.e. conducting cutting-edge research that directly contributes to the well-being of people and the planet.
At heart, I am a problem solver. The tougher and more complex the problem, the more fun I have engaging with it. Unconventional approaches are instinctive to me and I engage with full zeal to make this world a better place through my research, teaching, applied work, and service.
